The objective

Scale Ventures are an early stage consultancy who builds investor grade finance and deal capability inside high growth SaaS companies.

The bussiness needed an upgrade to their website. Their current site had served them well so far, but they had reached a stage where looking more professional in the digital space was essential.

With most engagements coming through referrals and word of mouth, the website isn’t about lead generation, it’s an authority piece. A place for prospective clients to validate the brand, understand the offering, and immediately recognise Scale Ventures as a serious, trusted partner in the SaaS growth journey.

What we did

Strategy

• Created user personas to clarify who the website needed to speak to
• We completed competitor research and labelled areas other businesses do well in, and what areas could be improved
• We created a sitemap so that they could see the overall structure of the website
• We provided lo-fi wireframe designs, so that the client could add their content in, and they were able to visually see what it would look like with their content in
• A Figma board was created, along with video tutorials on how to collaborate on designs

Design direction

• We stuck with a simple, clean design by using structured grid layouts and line drawing, which gives a clean, minimalist design
• We designed it so that as soon as you land on the homepage, it has a clear message of what Scale Ventures does, and a showcase of what businesses Scale Ventures has worked with
• We created pencil drawn icons which represented common recurring things like a trending line, or a pc

Development & functionality

• DrawSVG by GSAP: This was used to create the line draw animations you see throughout the website.

• Client first setup: This is a framework Webflow provides, which has class names for consistent styling and fast workflow.
• We set up their CMS to scale, creating collection lists such as:
  • Case Studies
  • Team Members
  • Logos
  • FAQs

The result

The new website went live on Webflow and has been running smoothly ever since.
